He has analyzed the nascent octopus aquaculture industry regarding environmental implications, alienation, and superexploitation through Marxist theories. He is interested in critical animal studies, the research and analysis of capitalist nature-animal-human relations, and postcapitalist approaches such as degrowth or ecosocialism.
